Raising awareness of men's cancer

by isleofman.com 29th June 2015

Consultant urologist at Noble's Hospital, Stephen Upsdell will give a public talk next month to help raise awareness of prostate cancer.

One in eight men will get prostate cancer but for many it is symptom-free in the early stages, when treatment is most effective.

The organisers of the talk by Mr Upsdell hope to raise awareness as well as raise money for Prostate Cancer UK which helps fund vital research.

There will be a service on Sunday July 12 at 6.30pm at Onchan Methodist Church followed by a presentation on prostate cancer by Mr Upsdell. Refreshments will be served and there will be a collection for the charity.

A spokesman said: 'Everybody is welcome to attend to find out more. We hope as many people as possible will join 'Men United' against cancer.'
