Isle of Man Archery Club Report

by isleofman.com 25th June 2015
There are a hectic couple of weeks ahead for members of the Isle of Man Archery Club.

An advance party leaves today (Thursday) to transport all the archery equipment to Jersey for the NatWest Island Games, the rest of the archers travelling with the main IOM Team tomorrow (Friday).

On Saturday and Sunday, ladies compound archer, Sarah Rigby, will be competing at a World Selection shoot at Lilleshall in Shropshire hoping to gain a place on the GB Compound Team for the next round of the World Championships to be held in Poland in August.

The following weekend, Rhys Moore will compete in the Gents Compound Division of the EuroNations Tournament in Scotland. This will be held on Saturday 4th July followed by the Commonwealth European Championships on Sunday 5th July. Rhys will be the only Manx archer competing due to the unavoidable crossover with the Island Games.

Then following their return from the Island Games and having recently returned from the Youth World Championships held in Yangton, South Dakota where they narrowly missed out on a bronze team medal by only one point, Aalin and Kirsten George will travel to Rome to shoot for GB in the Junior compound squad at the second leg of the European Youth Cup.

A great show of strength by our Manx archers on the International and World stages.
