MHKs win seats in upper chamber

by isleofman.com 22nd June 2015

There will be by-elections in Peel and Glenfaba ahead of next November's General Election.

Members of the House of Keys Tim Crookall and David Anderson were voted into the Legislative Council by their Keys colleagues this morning.

It was the fourth attempt to fill two vacant seats and there were eight secret ballots in a special sitting of the House of Keys this morning.

There had been five candidates - the two MHKs who won the seats, Phil Braidwood who was hoping to retain his seat on LegCo, former High Bailiff Michael Moyle and ex-commissioner Adrian Tinkler.
