The chief executive of the Department of Health and Social Care has resigned, citing 'personal reasons'.
Mark Charters had been in the role for less than a year.
He was appointed by Health Minister Howard Quayle at the end of May 2014 and took over the department in July, to address what Mr
Quayle said were the 'major health and social care challenges facing the Island'.
In a statement, the Civil Service Commission says it regrets to announce that Mr Charters has left for personal reasons 'following completion of his primary objectives'. It states that interim arrangements are being put in place, adding: 'Mr Charters hopes that the Island will support the new strategy for Health and Social Care that the Department will be consulting on over the coming months.'
