New finance app launched full of handy tools for Island-residents

by isleofman.com 18th June 2015
Manx firm of chartered accountants and business advisors, Harding Lewis, has announced the launch of its own branded smartphone app. The innovation is built specifically for the Isle of Man, and offers dozens of features that might be helpful to Manx people both personally and in their working lives.

The app, which is available on both iOS and Android, offers a number of useful financial control widgets that are handy to have in your pocket. These include a receipt manager function, a mileage tracker, and various financial calculators such as for mortgages, APR, loans, inflation, and more. It also puts a wealth of useful financial information just a finger’s tap away, including Manx and UK tax tables, share and fund prices, precious metal prices, and a calendar of important Isle of Man and UK finance dates and deadlines.

Andrew Gerrard, Managing Director of Harding Lewis, explained the reasoning behind building the app: “There are a lot of financial management apps available out there that offer various tools, but none of them are specific to the Isle of Man. This was a problem we weren’t happy with, as the Isle of Man obviously has its own tax regime, and tax is a big part of financial management. That’s why we really felt it would be something useful for our clients and therefore a great tool for us to develop as a business. However, the app is free to download for anyone who might find it useful, so it isn’t just limited to our clients!”

Andrew continued: “Apart from just being a really handy thing to have in your pocket, which is what everyone wants from an app, it’s also indicative of our attitude as a business. Being a local firm dedicated to the Manx market doesn’t stop us from being a technology-driven business that can innovate and offer value beyond just our expertise. That’s important to us.”

Anyone can download the app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store by searching for ‘Harding Lewis’.
