Bid to split prom vote is derailed

by isleofman.com 17th June 2015

Ambitious plans to redevelop Douglas promenade are due to be voted on by the Manx parliament after the summer recess.

This week in Tynwald, Graham Cregeen MHK failed in his bid to allow members to vote on separate elements of the scheme, instead of as a whole (see our MTTV interview with Mr Cregeen at http://www.manx.net/tv/mt-tv/watch/72930/horse-trams-in-tynwald

The ?21million project involves creating a shared walkway with cultural areas to replace the existing road and moving the horse tram track onto the existing promenade walkway, the cause of controversy.
