Alley art springs up

by isleofman.com 17th June 2015

Two artists have transformed an alley between Market Street and Strand Street in Douglas.

The aim was to brighten up a drab wall facing on to Guttery Gable and the work was carried out by Sholto and Hugo Brown, brothers from the Isle of Man who are based in London and work together as id-iom.

Hugo said: 'Every time we come back at Christmas we see these massive walls all over Douglas and no one cares for them. We just wanted to show how you can liven things up a little.'

Their business name is a tribute to their father, the late Ian Brown, a well known local architect who designed the Villa Marina and used to run an art shop called Idiom.
