Grant Thornton is once again sponsoring the Isle of Man Close Amateur Golf Championship 2015, which will be the 10th year the company has been the title sponsor.

At the event, which runs from the 13th June, amateur golfers compete for the illustrious title going through rounds of knockout stages, culminating with the final on the 20th June. This year the event is being held at Mount Murray Golf Club, a 71 par course.

As part of event, Grant Thornton will be holding a reception for past champions and Mount Murray Golf Club Officials.

Dennis McGurgan, Senior Partner at Grant Thornton, who hosts the event each year, said: ‘I really enjoy our sponsorship of the event each year. It’s a fantastic event and shows the sporting prowess of the Isle of Man that we can hold such a high quality, competitive tournament. I’m sure that 2015 will be another great year for the competitors and I wish everyone good luck.’

Isle of Man Golf Union President, Roy Moore, who organises the event said: ‘We are pleased that Grant Thornton is supporting this event once again. The championship is well known for the high level of play that we see and we’ve had some thrilling tournaments over the years, and I’m sure that this year will be no different. There are few opportunities for top amateur players on the Island to compete against each other, so we are delighted to be able to provide this, and the support from Grant Thornton give is invaluable.’
