Douglas RNLI lifeboat called out to assist broken down jet ski.

by isleofman.com 8th June 2015

Douglas RNLI lifeboat was launched today (6 June) at 7.35pm following the report of a jet ski in difficulty in Douglas Bay.

The RNLI all-weather lifeboat Sir William Hillary was launched under the command of volunteer Emergency Coxswain Graeme Cushnie when a jet ski with two people on board was reported in difficulty on the seaward side of the Tower of Refuge.

With the jet ski just outside the harbour the lifeboat quickly made contact taking the two people off the jet ski and on board the lifeboat. The jet ski which had suffered fuel problems was then taken under tow to the Visitors' Pontoon at the Battery Pier where it was berthed and the two people none the worse for their ordeal were put ashore to be met by Douglas Coastguard.

The lifeboat returned to station, was re-housed and was ready again for service by 8.20pm.
