Road safety warning to bikers

by isleofman.com 5th June 2015

Police are urging road users to 'expect the unexpected' after a motorcyclist fell into the ravine at Devil's Elbow.

The rider escaped with minor injuries in the incident yesterday (Thursday) evening after failing to negotiate the sharp bend on the Peel to Kirk Michael coast road. The road was closed while the Coastguard and fire service recovered the rider and bike from the ravine.

Police Sergeant Andy Pailor said: 'It is imperative whether you live on the island or are visiting for the TT, you ride or drive to your limits, you take proper notice of the road signs, many of which are in place especially for the festival period, you take proper notice of your surroundings and expect the unexpected. This will help you to stay safe on the roads.'
