Clear up in wake of storm

by isleofman.com 2nd June 2015

A major clear up operation is continuing today after last night's storm.

Severe gales and heavy rain brought trees down all over the island, while campsite tents were destroyed, the mountain road had to be closed and ferries and flights were disrupted.

The local community offered support to visiting TT bikers, opening up churches, meeting halls and their own homes, with thousands of people using social media to offer help.

Strong to gale force winds are expected to continue throughout today and there should be some late sunshine this evening but with the risk of showers. The unsettled weather should clear on Wednesday.
