Success for Lesley Sleight at Championships

by isleofman.com 28th May 2015
Isle of Man Archer Lesley Sleight has become the All British Ladies American Flatbow Champion.

The All British Field Archery Championships were held at Buriton in Hampshire. The World Record status event consisted of 24 targets marked and 24 targets unmarked.

On the Saturday, in excellent weather conditions but on a tricky course through a wooded valley Lesley scored 156 on the marked course which was a little disappointing and well short of her UK record of 193. On the Sunday Lesley shot a challenging unmarked course. There were lots of angled bosses and steep up and down slopes to contend with. Lesley score of 187 enabled her to take the Gold medal and also confirm her position as the top Ladies Longbow archer for the World 3D Championships later this year.
