Isle Of Man Constabulary- Decision Guy Martins' 22 minute lap on open roads.

by isleofman.com 27th May 2015

Following the Sunday Times Motoring Section publication of an article by Guy Martin where he alleged he had achieved a 22 minute lap of the TT course on open roads, including reaching 180mph on the Sulby Straight, the Isle of Man Police have now completed their inquiries.

Inspector Derek Flint said; “ We have sought advice on further investigation of this matter from the Attorney General's Chambers, and at this point, our inquiries are complete and we will not be seeking to take any further action.

As we approach TT 2015, we’d like to remind residents and visitors alike that the majority of our public roads are governed by speed limits, which are rigorously enforced. Where there is no upper speed limit, road users must at all times be aware that there is a fine line between what is fast and what is dangerous. The Constabulary will take whatever action is in their power to ensure public safety is maintained."
