Isle of Man Maritime Group to host event at major London conference

by isleofman.com 26th May 2015

The Isle of Man Maritime Group, which was formed in early 2014 to promote the Isle of Man as a maritime centre of excellence, has announced the details of their latest targeted event, a hosted evening reception during London International Shipping Week 2015 (“LISW”) on Tuesday 7th September 2015.  LISW is the must attend maritime event of 2015, with over 100 industry functions and networking opportunities taking place during the 7th - 11th September 2015, aimed at leaders across all sectors of the international shipping industry.

As official sponsors to LISW 2015, the Group has organised a “Nautical by Nature – from maritime heritage forward to Maritime Centre of Excellence” themed evening reception, to be held at the historical Trinity House venue, overlooking the Tower of London and the River Thames, in the heart of London City.

During the reception, guests will be invited to network with the Group, and explore the Isle of Man’s rich maritime history, learning about the strength and breadth of the world class maritime international services provided by the Isle of Man based organisations.  The reception is aimed at attracting a large international audience of senior management decision makers, across a broad range of international maritime and shipping organisations.

Isle of Man Maritime Group Chairman, Bruce McGregor, commented, “LISW is the ideal opportunity for the Group to promote the wealth of maritime services and experience provided internationally by Isle of Man based Group members as well as of course the Isle of Man itself, as a place to do business.  This event in London follows our extremely successful inaugural event at the International Festival for Business (IFB2014) last year, from which as a group we are keen to build momentum.”

We are also very pleased to have recently welcomed five new member companies to the Group ahead of LISW 2015 – Fine Focus, InterManager, MHG Insurance Brokers, Moore Stephens and Simocks, who have all engaged with the benefits and opportunities of being a part of a wider network for the Isle of Man maritime business community.

Ahead of LISW 2015 we are now formally inviting expressesions of interest from any other Isle of Man based companies with an interest in the shipping and maritime sector to become involved in the Group and our event at LISW 2015”.
