Witnesses are being sought to a hit and run in Ramsey in which a woman was seriously injured.

Police say the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday near the junction of Bowring Road and North Shore Road. A silver Clio car was abandoned at the scene and someone was seen running off in the direction of Mooragh prom.

The woman is said to be in a serious but not life threatening condition in hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the hit and run and are also appealing for information about the movements of the Clio car around the Ramsey area before the incident.
