Commercial refuse collection business, Clean A Way, is expanding its operations. The Company, part of Strand Group, has acquired an additional bin wagon bringing the fleet of vehicles to five. An additional member of staff has also joined the team.
The new vehicle has an onboard weighing system which was officially calibrated before it went into operation on the Island. All Clean A Way vehicles have Government calibrated systems and this means that customers are guaranteed to pay only for the waste that is removed.
The Clean A Way fleet carries hi-tech systems with sophisticated software that provide a great deal of management information. The new Bin Weigh 2 system, with a touch screen on-board computer, automatically identifies the bin and weighs the contents during the lifting cycle. Data is stored on-board and can be instantly transmitted back to the office. This information can be made available to customers in a number of ways depending on requirements. “Customers are more and more aware of their green footprint and have welcomed the additional information that we can provide. Where waste is a significant issue, and therefore costly to a business, this information can be invaluable,’ said Trish Clegg, Manager of Clean A Way.
Clean A Way has taken on a number of new contracts in recent weeks and new customers have been keen to benefit from cost savings as well as being impressed by the team’s friendly common sense approach. Daily, weekly or as required commercial waste collection is available throughout the Island. The Company also offers special events services and is already gearing up for this year’s TT. In 2014 Clean A Way removed 27 tonnes of rubbish from the riders’ paddock, hospitality area and grandstand during the three-week TT period.
Clean A Way recently moved to new purpose-built premises at Tromode Estate in Douglas, along with the other businesses in the Group, Strand Facilities Services, Storall and Krypton Contract Cleaning.
