ICM Group staff volunteer for MSPCA

by isleofman.com 21st May 2015

Douglas based ICM Group, which provides corporate services for international clients, runs a volunteer scheme for staff. Every year, staff are given the opportunity to use two work days to help a charity of their choice. Numerous charities across the Island have benefitted from this. Activities span from gardening and decorating to fundraising and helping at charity events.

A group of ICM volunteers recently spent a day at the Manx Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ManxSPCA) and were asked to power wash and paint the aviary. This is where injured wild birds are taken to convalesce.

Andy Duggan, a regular volunteer with the ManxSPCA, was joined by colleagues Jonathan Stockton, Aaron Hicks, Heather Keary and Dasa Mojzis.

Andy told us:
"It was a great day and the aviary looked so much better once we had finished. That was my second ICM volunteer day with the charity this year. I think it is a great scheme and we are lucky to have the opportunity to do something to help a cause we believe in during working hours".

The Manx SPCA is a Manx Registered Charity founded in 1897. They care for all creatures in need of help. They do not receive any funding from the Isle of Man Government so depend on the support of the Manx public who contribute regularly to their running costs of over ?1,900 a day. Practical help from volunteers is also greatly appreciated in order to continue their good work. For more information visit: www.manxspca.com.
