Hospice are always thinking on a different level of ways of raising funds so were thrilled when David Cain came to them with a fun idea of a Kipper Race to be held during Peel Day in June.
The event is kindly sponsored by Devereau’s in Peel and will start at 6pm on Sunday 7th June 2015. Teams of 4 will take part in a 2,000 metres race around the House of Manannan. The roads will be closed.
All team members must wear a kipper of some description – this bit is open to the entrants’ imagination! Entry is ?40 per team for 4 people. This fun event was the great idea of David Cain whose grandson, Jack sadly died in May last year at Rebecca House.
Pictured are Mary Doyle and Amy Davenport from Hospice’s fundraising team with Anthony and Andrew from Devereau’s in Douglas with some lovely kippers.
It is really hoped that this inaugural Kipper race will be a roaring success – the winning team will receive ?200 in cash and a box of Devereau’s world renowned kippers each!
