by isleofman.com 14th May 2015

ISLE OF MAN – 138.com has chosen Microgaming to launch a poker offering; the operator is now live on the MPN.

138 is a successful online casino and sportsbook, with licences in the United Kingdom, Philippines, and Isle of Man, where its corporate headquarters are located. Already a market leader in Asia, where the company has over a decade of experience in online gaming, 138 pledges to offer a ‘uniquely Asian’ experience to its customers worldwide.

The online casino and sportsbook has strong ties to sport – they are the official club sponsor of Watford FC in the Football League Championship, and the official betting partner of Newcastle United FC in the English Premier League. With the launch of poker on the MPN, 138.com adds its first ‘mind sport’ to its gaming portfolio.

“I’m thrilled that yet another major brand has chosen the MPN as their poker home. The recreational-focused strategy that we have pioneered is really starting to pay off,” comments Alex Scott, Head of Poker at Microgaming. “More and more operators are recognising the MPN as the leader of this movement. I’m very pleased to welcome 138 and I’m excited about the potential that they bring to our network.”

138 is live with download and instant play clients, and will shortly be launching mobile. Players with Mac or Windows PCs, or any major tablet or smartphone can play together at the same tables on the same network.

“Joining the MPN was a natural choice for us – we wanted a high-quality product that could be tailored to the unique needs of our customers,” adds Lisa Karran, Head of Operations at Xela Holdings. “The MPN delivers exactly what we require, and we believe the network has a very bright future.”

The news that 138 has gone live on the MPN is hot on the heels of two other recent launches – SBOBET and Adjarabet.
