Tynwald Honour nomination

A Manx advocate and champion of sport and the disabled is in line to receive the Tynwald Honour, awarded to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to Manx life.

Geoff Karran was awarded the MBE in 2008 for services to sport and the disabled. He was made a Freeman of the Borough of Douglas in 2012 for his services to sport. A partner in Dickinson Cruickshank from 1971 until his retirement in 2005, Mr Karran was chairman of IoM Sport for ten years until 2012. Chairman of the Manx Gateway Club for over 30 years and has been chairman and director of Project 21 since its formation in 2002.

He will be nominated for the Tynwald Honour at next week's parliamentary sitting by Speaker Steve Rodan. The medal is presented on Tynwald Day.
