Intern position in the Clerk of Tynwald’s Office

by isleofman.com 13th May 2015

The Clerk of Tynwald’s Office is offering a one-year intern post in the Tynwald Chamber and Information Service.

The position will see the successful applicant working with the parliamentary administration and Hansard teams as well as with the clerks. In so doing, he or she will gain first-hand experience of how a modern parliament operates, specifically how the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald supports the business of Tynwald and the Branches, parliamentary committees, the Isle of Man branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and individual Members.

Clerk of Tynwald Roger Phillips said: ‘This is the second year that my Office is recruiting to this position; the innovation of having an intern has been a great success and we hope to build on this. We are looking for a person starting out on their career who is keen to spend a year in an organisation which has 1000 years of tradition, but which also is innovative and outward-looking and embraces advances in communications technology. We will teach skills that will be of use in the wider world and also spread greater understanding of Tynwald in the community.’

Application forms are available from the Clerk of Tynwald’s Office, enquiries@tynwald.org.im, 685500 or visit www.tynwald.org.im/memoff/recruit

Applications must be received by 9am Monday 15th June 2015.
