Costs of silt dredging

by isleofman.com 13th May 2015

The total cost of removing silt from Peel marina is expected to be ?98,000.

The House of Keys was told this week that the Department of Infrastructure had decided the dredging was urgent.

Replying to questions on behalf of Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne, department member Chris Thomas said quotes had been obtained from on and off island dredging companies, with the local operator declining to quote. He said that emergency powers were invoked as the cost exceeded the threshold for the tendering of contracts under financial regulations.
