KHG Senior Open golf tournament... introducing its new junior prize!

by isleofman.com 12th May 2015

Isle of Man fund range, KHG Funds, has brought its Senior Open golf tournament back for a fifth year, but this time with an added extra.

Sponsored by financial adviser, Lasenby Knox, the three-round tournament will begin at Ramsey Golf Course on 2nd July, where participants will go onto compete at Douglas for round two, before taking part in the final round held at Castletown.

New changes mean that for the first time, the tournament is introducing a new junior competition to run alongside the Senior Open. Creechurch Capital, the investment manager to KHG Funds, has arranged for the junior competition to take place, where participants will compete for the winning prize of a 12 month sponsorship from the prestigious Creechurch Sports Academy.

The Senior Open tournament will be split in two, with the usual senior (aged 50-64) and super senior (aged 65+) categories taking part.

Steve Locking, Lasenby Knox Managing Director, said: “The KHG Funds Senior Open is now firmly established in the island’s golfing calendar, and we are proud to be supporting this increasingly popular event. As a new brand on the island, it is important to associate ourselves with well organised and established events that are built around local people taking part, and we’re looking forward to seeing some talent on the day.”

John Greenwood, Chief Executive Officer at Creechurch Capital, commented: “We’re delighted that Lasenby Knox is supporting this year’s tournament, and its generosity has meant that this year’s entry price has been reduced to ?50 per head.
“Each year the event has gone from strength to strength and has become not only a great golf tournament, but also an excellent social occasion.

“There have been some slight changes this year with the addition of the junior competition, but it will be great to have some young golfers taking part in the mini tournament, with the chance to win new equipment and specialist coaching to further develop their skills.”

Around 60 golfers have already signed-up to take part in the Senior Open, and there is still time to enter. If you are interested in taking part, call Hannah Grubb on 01624 653800 or email KHGGolf@creechurchcapital.com. The closing date is May 30.
