90 minutes from Grand Slam

by isleofman.com 11th May 2015
St George’s are 90 minutes away from completing Manx football’s grand slam for the second time in just four years.
A 3-0 victory over Peel last night (Sunday) booked their place in the Hospital Cup final and ensured the westerners ended the season empty handed.
Two goals from Callum Morrissey and one from Sam Caine sealed the victory and left the Geordies one game from completing a clean-sweep of Manx trophies.
Home goalkeeper Andy Perry also saved a Peel penalty.
Manager Chris Bass is keeping his players’ feet on the ground:
St George’s will meet St Mary’s in next Sunday’s final after they saw off St John’s in dramatic fashion in the other semi-final.
Stephen Glover looked to have fired St John’s through with an extra-time goal but a last-gasp penalty from St Mary’s player-manager Steven Priestnal forced a shoot-out in which the Saints triumphed 4-1.
Elsewhere, Craig Dolman and Paul Whitley scored the goals as Douglas Royal lifted the Paul Henry Gold Cup with a 2-1 victory over promoted Ramsey Youth Centre.Clip 1
