Gale Force’s legendary summer schools are back.
Run by the founder of Gale Force theatre school Barbara Gale the schools offer the perfect solution for the ‘I’m bored’ brigade with their unique combination of theatre, dance, music, song and the Manx spoken word.
And this year there’s the added attraction of a workshop by West End Mamma Mia! star Kim Ismay.
Based at the Methodist church hall in St John’s the schools are as well suited to the shy and retiring as they are to the born performer. The sessions are educational yet fun and, with Barbara Gale leading the proceedings, are not only supremely well organised and disciplined but also encourage young talent.
The summer school for 11 to 18-year-olds is on Saturday August 15th and Sunday August 16th and will feature a masterclass by actress Kim Ismay, who has spent a record seven years starring as Tanya in Mamma Mia! at the Novello, Prince of Wales and Prince Edward theatres in London’s West End.
For the 14 years and under sessions on Monday August 17th and Tuesday August 18th the school will take the form of activities based at St John’s and educational trips around the Island.
No one’s too cool for a Gale Force summer school.
Sessions are ?50 per day. To book a space contact Barbara Gale, barbs@galeforce-online.net or call 496556.
