A National Two Minute Silence to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day and in remembrance of those who died in the service of their country will be observed in the Island at 3.00pm this Friday, 8th May 2015.

Local Authorities are requested to make arrangements in their respective districts for giving warnings of the precise moment at which the Two Minute Silence will begin and end.

The full co-operation of the public in the observance of the Two Minute Silence is requested. The suspension of all vehicular traffic between 3.00pm and 3.02pm on the designated day is also requested and it is especially hoped that drivers of motor vehicles will stop the engines of vehicles during the period of silence.
