Albany Lawn Tennis News

The Isle of Man LTA Veteran Championships, sponsored by Pokerstars, is being held at the club starts on Saturday. All competitors will be e-mailed the times of their first match and all fees must be paid before play starts. Will all winners from the 2014 Championships please return the perpetual trophies to the club’s office by Monday 4 May.

Congratulations to one of our Mini Tennis members, William Shooter, who won the Sheffield Plate at the Guild last Saturday. The previous Saturday he won the beginners under 8yrs Mini Tennis competition at the club and prior to singing at the Villa at the weekend he attended his Mini Tennis coaching session as usual. Playing tennis must have relaxed him and got rid of nerves! Are there any other juniors who sing – perhaps we could enter a choir next year.

Albany’s stage of the Isle of Man Annual British Heart Foundation tournament will be held on Wednesday 20 May with a 9.30am for 10am start. There are 20 players entered in this fun event organised by Jane Gullan and Bridget Stewart.

The IOMLTA Summer Men’s and Women’s leagues start the week beginning 18 May. All fixture lists and score sheets will be on the League notice board in the lobby.

Hopefully we will have a lot of players keen to represent the club in our teams which are sponsored by Auxesia Ltd.
