An Alaotran gentle lemur has been bred at the park for the first time.
The primate was born to Geoff, a long-time resident, and Amondi, his second female partner who arrived at the park three years ago.
Although the baby lemur was born several weeks ago, the news has been under wraps as the first few weeks are critical to the creature's survival.
The Madagascan breed is on an international critically endangered list and is threatened with extinction in the wild.
The lemurs' keepeer Sarah Teare-Kermeen has been praised for her achievement by general manager Kathleen Graham.
Sarah, who's due to go on maternity leave, sought advice on from an expert at Durrell Wildlife Park in Jersey.
Kathleen says the Wildlife Park's contribution to the conservation of the species has added to their 50th anniversary celebrations.
