Business Start Ups in the Island to be discussed at next JCC event

by isleofman.com 1st May 2015

The JCC has announced that their May learning event is being held on the 20 May at The Palace Hotel. Sponsored by The Needle, the event will explore, from a business owner perspective, how a variety of businesses have found the experience of setting up their business on the island and what learnings they have taken away from the experience.

The JCC has secured a range of speakers for the event, from a new start up company, to a business that has been established for over 25 years. They will also be joined by the local Institute of Directors (“IOD”) Chairman who will share the IOD’s thoughts on business start ups and the support the IOD provides to local business.

JCC members and guests will hear five presentations during this breakfast event. The speakers are Christine Tautari, Managing Director of The Needle; Alex Townell, Managing Director of ATIOM Corporate Consultants Limited; John Hellowell, Chairman of the Strand Group; Owen Cutajar, Managing Director of Future Tech, and Clive Parrish, Chairman of the IOD.

“There are many local people who dream of starting up their own business but they simply don’t have the courage to do it,” said Kate Parrish, Chairman of the JCC. “We’re delighted that we’ve been able to bring together such a wide range of speakers who are all in different stages of their business cycles – I’m sure they are going to share some interesting stories and insight for those that are ready to take that great leap from employee to employer! I’d like to thank The Needle for their support and I look forward welcoming both members and non-members to the event. If anyone would like further information in respect to this event, please visit our website: www.jcc.im or connect with us on LinkedIn, Facebook or follow us on Twitter @JCCIOM.”
