Community company for Ramsey PO

by isleofman.com 30th April 2015
A group of volunteers who successfully bid to take over Ramsey post office have formed a community company.

In their first major step as a business, the former cooperative has become Ramsey Courthouse Ltd - and aims to be in charge of the enterprise by 1 September.

The venture will be run on the same lines as the John Lewis partnership, where staff have a stake in the company and a share of profits.

Most of the town's Crown office staff will be re-employed by the new company.

Chairman elect Nigel Malpass says it's an appropriate business model for a true community enterprise: Clip 1
