Online entry is now open (via www.ellanvannin.cc) for the 6th annual Appleby Sportive, which will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, 4 May.

Starting and finishing at Ramsey Rugby Club, the challenging cycling event consists of timed courses from 38km to 118km, taking in many roads that are not typically used in local races and featuring more than 1500m of ascent, including the climbs of Druidale and Slieau Whallian.

This year the Sportive has been extended to include two new courses; a beginners’ course at 38km and a truly challenging 118km, in addition to the 72km and 100km courses that have tested cyclists in previous years.

The Sportive is sponsored by Appleby as part of its support for the Ellan Vannin Cycling Club (EVCC). The law firm also provides, as part of its three-year sponsorship deal, Appleby-branded cycling kit for the club and supports the Appleby Under 18 Circuit Championships – a competitive cycling event on the Island for young riders.
