Guy Martin supercar TT claims remain to be vanquished

by isleofman.com 21st April 2015
Claims that top road racer Guy Martin drove an Aston Martin supercar round the TT course on open roads in 22 minutes have now appeared in the UK Times newspaper.
They were originally published in the Sunday Times.
During a test drive in an Aston Martin Vanquish, Guy was quoted as saying he had taken the car round the course in 22 minutes. That included a claimed 180 miles an hour down the Sulby Straight.
Following the claims, Manx police opened inquiries into the matter but will only say at present those inquiries are continuing.
The Times suggests that driving at 180 miles an hour on a 40 miles an hour road might be the ideal way for Guy Martin to forward an application to be the new presenter of the Top Gear programme.
Martin is due to come to the Island for this year's TT in a few week's time. If the matter hasn't been cleared up by then, it is probable Manx police might like a word with him.
