Hi-tech anti-loneliness project

The government is teaming up with local companies to help charities on the Island combat loneliness among older people.
T
hree women and a man in the south of the Island are taking part in the six-month trial to tackle social isolation – and have been given tablet computers to show how they can stay in touch with friends and family.
The project sees the Department of Health and Social Care team up with Manx Telecom and Zurich International to help Age Isle of Man and Southern Befrienders.
