Manx Classic Sprint & Hillclimb this week

by isleofman.com 21st April 2015

This year’s Manx Classic three day sprint and hillclimb is shaping up to be an exciting high-octane event with cars from plenty of eras represented on the start line.

From Edwardian racing cars and vintage thoroughbreds, through much loved classics to modern performance cars, this year will see almost 100 cars, spanning 1911 to 2015, lined up to compete for the title “Fastest Time of Day” at each of the three venues.

A whole class of Bugattis will compete this year, eighty years since the marque won on Manx soil in the 1935 Mannin Moar “around the houses” race in Douglas.  MGs and Rileys for the same era will be represented too, with one competitor coming all the way from Germany to compete on the island for the first time, in his 1932 MG J2.

Come along and see the cars up close in the paddock at the TT Grandstand on Thursday 23 April.  The evening Governor’s Sprint gets underway from 6pm, spectators can view the event from the TT Grandstand in Douglas.
