Chinese MoU a boost for Island's insurance sector

The Island's joint government and corporate trip to China has produced a significant agreement for the Manx insurance sector.
On the first day (20 April) a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed on behalf of regulators in both countries - the Isle of Man Insurance and Pensions Authority (IPA) and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC).
The MoU recognises mutual advice and assistance offered by the organisations, for Chinese companies establishing an operation in the Island and Manx firms venturing into China.
Leading the delegation, Chief Minister Allan Bell said they would actively promote the benefits of Chinese businesses setting-up in the Isle of Man, "a leading global centre for international insurance business."
Mr Bell says the mutual agreement is a major advance for the Manx business sector:
