Heritage Homes, part of the Dandara Group, has continued its support for the Island’s girl golfers by donating a further ?5,000 to help talented young female players develop their game.
Now in its second year, the Heritage Homes Golf Fund for Junior Girls assists with travel, accommodation and meal costs for qualifying Isle of Man juniors who visit the UK to take part in training events and competitions.
The Isle of Man Ladies Golf Association will again administer the Fund. President Jessie Perry said “We are delighted that Heritage Homes has extended the Fund as it will really help our outstanding junior girl golfers develop further and progress on a national level.
“The Fund has already proven invaluable for those exceptional young ladies who receive expert coaching in the UK, taking some of the financial pressure off their families.”
She explained that a number of junior girl golfers who were talent-spotted by England Golf are now coached by Lancashire County and Team GB meaning they frequently travel for training and to play in national junior competitions.
Heritage Homes and Dandara managing director Seamus Nugent said “We’re always looking to help develop local sport and we’re thrilled to continue supporting the next generation of female golfers.
He added “As well as the direct benefits of the Fund, we also hope that by making golf more accessible for young girls, it will in turn encourage more to take up the sport.”
