Residents serve up a donation for libraries

by isleofman.com 16th April 2015

The warden and residents of Rearyt-y-Chrink sheltered housing complex in Port Erin held a coffee morning to raise funds for the Mobile and Family Libraries, raising a grand total of ?305.

The money will go towards the libraries’ target of raising ?125,000 towards their annual running costs.

Sally Hardman, assistant librarian with the Mobile Family Library, is pictured collecting the proceeds from warden Lynn Buchan and Jane Kneale.

‘We are incredibly grateful to the residents of Reayrt-y-Chrink, many of whom have been our friends and customers for a long time,’ said Sally.

The Mobile Family Library and the Family Library are run as a charity. Half of the annual ?250,000 running costs will be met by a family trust for each of the next three years, with fundraising taking place to meet the other half.

Anyone wishing to stage a fundraising event is asked to contact 640650, Sandra.Henderson@familylibrary.im or Mary.Cousins@familylibrary.im.

It is now possible to show your support by making a donation via the website www.familylibrary.im

The website has everything you need to know about at the Family Library, Schools Service and Mobile Library.
