The Isle of Man LTA Veteran Closed Championships will be held this year at Albany from Saturday 9 – Saturday 16 May. This is a Grade 4 LTA Sanctioned event. Entry forms have been sent to all island clubs and are available in our clubhouse. Entries close – 1pm Monday 4th May. You only have to be aged 35 and over to enter so lets see a bigger entry than last year. The events are Men’s Singles O35,O45,O55 O65 and O75, Women’s singles O35, O45 and O55; Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles O35 and O55. Will last year’s winners please return trophies, engraved with their name, to the office at Albany by Monday 4 May.

Albany/Nedgroup Junior Open  – Orange and Green ball competition will be played this Saturday and Sunday with the Red ball event to will be held on Saturday 25 April.

All players will be e-mailed the time of their 1st match. Any queries contact the referee Ian Watson – 496293 or e-mail ianwatsonpts@manx.net.

The IOMLTA Men’s and Ladies league will commence in May and Albany will be entering teams. It would help the committee if any member interested in playing league tennis this year would send their name to Club Captain, Ian Watson or Ladies Captain Jackie Russell.

Members are reminded that the club’s facilities can be hired for Birthday parties, family celebrations, tennis parties, corporate tennis/coaching at very reasonable rates. Contact Kirsten Hall for more details – kirsten.albany@gmail.com.

The indoor court will not be available next Tuesday  21st from 8am to 5pm for two new lights to be fitted. Apologies for any inconvenience but it is vital this work is done as soon as possible.
