Less than one month to the Harbour 2 Harbour Walk

by isleofman.com 15th April 2015

Whether you’re Parish Walk training or simply looking to stretch your legs, there’s less than one month left to sign-up for the Friends Provident International Harbour 2 Harbour Sponsored Walk.

This year’s event will take place on Sunday May 10th starting from The Bay in Port Erin at 10am. Registration will be open from 9.15am. The route, which has been reversed for 2015, will continue along St Mary’s Road, up The Howe to Glen Chass before joining the coastal path to Castletown.

Walkers reaching the end of the nine mile course will discover a lively finish area within Castle Gardens, which will feature Manx bands, singers and dancers as well as the chance to get involved with a southern community art project.

Event Co-ordinator Janet Bridle, said: ‘We had a stand in Shoprite at the weekend and were overwhelmed by the level of interest shown – a large number signed-up on the spot! With the help of a volunteer student from Isle of Man College we’re also going to be posting on social media more this year so would encourage everyone to find us on Facebook by searching for harbour2harbour.’

The walk is again being sponsored by Friends Provident International and General Manager, Caroline Cornish, commented:

‘We’re delighted to be sponsoring Harbour 2 Harbour again this year, it’s such a wonderful event, supporting some great community-based projects. We also want to see more of our people getting involved this year, so in addition to the sponsorship we will be paying their entry fee when they sign up with two friends.‘

To enter or find out more about the event, please email H2Hreg@hubclubsci.im or call Janet on 838180. You can also stay up-to-date with the latest news via Facebook www.facebook.com/harbour2harbour.
