Dredging brings benefits, says club

The Commodore of Peel’s Sailing and Cruising Club says dredging the Western harbour will bring massive economic benefits to the Island.

Yesterday, work to clear the harbour of potentially contaminated silt got underway, with the Department of Infrastructure dumping the material in special ponds it’s prepared at Poortown.

But the work sparked anger amongst residents after a number of spills on roads along the route.
