The decision to charge for plots at this year's Tynwald Day Fair is akin to the "money lenders in the temple".
That's the belief of the Manx Nationalist Party, Mec Vannin.
In previous years, plots on the fairfield, now behind Tynwald Hill, have been free for stallholders.
But it's now been announced that government intends to charge from ?25 up to ?200 for the pitches, although charities will still get one 10 foot by 10 foot plot free.
