After the inaugural event saw 75 of the world’s lottery messenger industry elite descend from 16 countries upon Tel Aviv, Israel in May last year, Isle of Man based Counting House has announced its programme for the world’s second Global Lottery Messenger Forum (GLMF), this time to be hosted at the Sunborn Hotel, Gibraltar on 27 April, 2015.
The invitation-only, one day event will once again bring together key players in global lottery messenger services to discuss the latest developments during a critical growth phase for the industry. A diverse programme of presentations, complimented by interactive panels provided by experts in their field will offer information and perspectives that can only be gained in GLMF’s exclusive forum. A number of networking opportunities have also been afforded to allow for the rare opportunity of collaboration in this exciting, global industry.
Managing Director of Counting House, Paul Davis, will provide the event’s opening address followed by an official welcome. Head of Sales for Counting House, Middle East and conference organiser Stuart Ballan, will then discuss the status of the industry one year on, providing a comprehensive picture of lottery messenger and identifying emerging platforms and players before discussing what’s hot, and what’s controversial in 2015.
The first of the day’s panel discussions will then see moderator Peter Greenhill, CEO of e-Gaming Development for the Isle of Man Government Department of Economic Development, the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission’s Chief Executive Steve Brennan, Director of LottoTech Ofri Noier, and CEO of DigiDis, Sascha Bedelt, tackle lottery regulation and the challenges it faces in both onshore and offshore environments.
Addressing the audience before lunch Steve Hickson, Director of SidePlay Entertainment Limited, will present ‘Attention please, this will only take an instant!’ before the day’s second interactive panel where Moderator Stuart Ballan, Matt Butcher of PIMS-SCA, Tom Mitchell of Lottorisq and Mark Robinson of Bluefin will together discuss Lottery Messenger Insurance and its importance to the sector.
The question of “secondary lotteries as an asset class?” will form the focus of My Lotto24 Managing Director Egidio Messito’s presentation, after which Paul Davis will return to the stage to discuss the crucial topic of payment processing for lottery messenger companies.
Complimenting the Manx delegation, Niall Carey, of the Isle of Man Post Office, will discuss the effective use of postal services for the industry, before David F. V. Rosen, Advisor to industry leader and sponsor LottoLand begins a highly anticipated presentation entitled ‘Insurance Linked Securities – the next step of evolution in covering lottery jackpots’.
One of the paradigm shifts of the Lottery Messenger industry is the recent move from self-owned, self developed B2C technology, to a number of B2B platforms. Several of the emerging B2B platforms will present, including Ofri Noier , Director of LottoTech; Yuval Ganot, Director of LottoYard; and Marek Mahdal, CEO of Kootac, after which Stuart Ballan returns to summarise and wrap up GLMF 2015.
Attendees will meet again for dinner at Le Bateau Restaurant, rounding off what is certain to be a day’s fascinating insight and debate, whilst providing an ideal environment for informal networking.

Lottery messenger is a highly popular global industry which allows persons to gain access to national lottery tickets from countries other than their home nation. Lottery messenger companies allow a resident of Egypt, for example, to purchase a French national lottery ticket, giving them access to a national lottery where one might not otherwise be available, or a national lottery with larger, more attractive jackpots. A ?2 ticket might be available to a non-resident via a lottery messenger company for, say, ?4 to cover the cost of procurement, postage, and the many regulatory and security requirements to which a lottery messenger company is bound to adhere. Though still in its early stages, lottery messenger is already a multi-million pound industry, with enormous market potential still to be realised.
