Scrapping of free check-ups an 'own goal'

That’s how an MHK has described the decision to scrap free dental check-ups.
From last week, charges for seeing an NHS dentist were introduced - except for those on certain state benefits.
Peter Karran believes those earning more than ?40,000 annually should have to pay.
But he says retaining free basic routine examinations is cost effective and can often prevent patients from needing more costly treatment further on.Clip 1
