by isleofman.com 3rd April 2015
A murder trial has heard the accused didn't remember a phone call with his brother nine seconds before he called 999.
Forty-six-year-old Ian Anderson is pleading not guilty to the murder of 60-year-old Ballabeg man Neil Roberts, in late 2013.
Police found Mr Roberts's body at Mr Anderson's house he shared with his wife in Queen Street, Castletown.
Mr Anderson said he didn't remember speaking to anyone else other than his son on the night of the incident.
Linda Watts, prosecuting, finished questioning Mr Anderson on Thursday (April, 2).
At the end of Mr Anderson's evidence Deemster Montgomerie asked the final question.
He noticed on a telephone chart shown to the jury a call from Mr Anderson's brother that lasted eight minutes. Nine seconds after the call ended, Mr Anderson dialled 999.
The deemster asked Mr Anderson about what was said over the phone - Mr Anderson said he didn't remember this call or conversation.
The defence will continue with its evidence on Tuesday (April, 7) at Douglas Courthouse.
