Martin Kennaugh, of ICM Aviation, which specialises in ownership solutions for business aircraft, is attending the 2015 Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (ABACE) in Shanghai, China, from 14 – 16 April.  ABACE attracts over 8,000 business leaders from 51 countries and has become a permanent fixture in Martin’s diary.

This is the fourth time Martin has attended the show and he has seen a steep rise in business opportunities, even over a short period. Martin told us:

“The Isle of Man as a jurisdiction sends several political and business delegations to China each year and it is very much part of Government and private sector strategies to foster and build relationship with partners over there. ICM has been consistent in its approach and this is the fourth year in a row that I have attended the show. This demonstrates our commitment to business aviation in the region and an acknowledgement of the importance of China as a rapidly emerging market.”

During his visit to Asia, Martin will also be visiting contacts in Hong Kong to talk about the latest VAT and Customs solution that has been developed by the ICM Group and is provided by sister company Martyn Fiddler Associates Limited (MFAL).

Angie Deady-Fiddler, Director of MFAL, who works closely with Martin and his team to provide a joined up and seamless package of services to their clients, told us more about the new solution:

“This is another innovative product, which has been developed within Europe to provide clients with a swift and efficient way to deal with VAT and duty which may be due when non-EU Operators bring their aircraft into the EU. It will particularly appeal to clients from Asia, the Middle East and North America.

It has the benefit of the Martyn Fiddler team’s “know how” and client service and has been constructed with full tax and legal advice to ensure it meets the requirements of the EU jurisdiction and the clients’ needs.

We are already talking to numerous existing clients about how this will ease the burden of complying with the EU regulations and know that our new Asian clients will be just as interested.”
