by isleofman.com 2nd April 2015
The Junior Chamber of Commerce (“JCC”) has announced that David Schneider is to be the guest speaker at their annual Black Tie Dinner on Saturday 9 May at The Palace Hotel.

A former Radio 5 Live 'Tweeter of the Year', with over 200,000 followers on Twitter, David Schneider has a lot to share about the viral potential of social media. An avid tweeter, “actor, writer, comedian, fool”, David founded 'That Lot' social media agency with David Levin in 2013, to help get businesses up and running on social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

Sponsored by Barclays, the dinner will be compared by Christy DeHaven and there will be music by local band “Switch”. All money raised on the evening will be donated to Manx Cancer Help.

Kate Parrish, Chairman of the JCC commented: “We host monthly learning and networking events so this black tie dinner fits perfectly into our 2015 schedule. JCC events are a great place to make new contacts and to reconnect with old friends, and we welcome both members and guests to what will be a fun and entertaining evening. I’m delighted that David has accepted our invitation to speak at our event and I’m looking forward to hearing David’s thoughts on social media and how he has helped businesses with their digital strategy. I’d like to thank Barclays for sponsoring the event and for the support that they have given us in recent years”.

Simon Scott, Managing Director, Barclays Isle of Man said: ““We are really looking forward to hearing from David Schneider as he is well-known for his knowledge of digital business, culture and the connected world. Digital is a key pillar for Barclays and helping individuals and businesses get more from their use of digital is something we are working on through our Digital Eagles, Accelerator programme, Connector Service and Code Playground. It looks like it will be a fantastic event and I wish the JCC every success for the evening.”

Guests will be welcomed with a champagne reception, followed by a three course dinner. Tickets for the event cost ?35 per person and tables of ten are available on request. If anyone would like further information in respect to this event, please visit their website: www.jcc.im or connect with them on LinkedIn, Facebook or follow them on Twitter @JCCIOM.
