A man accused of murder will be cross-examined by the prosecution at Douglas Courthouse today (Wed).
Forty-six-year-old Ian Anderson denies murdering 60-year-old Ballabeg man Neil Roberts, in late 2013.
Mr Roberts's body was found by police at Mr and Mrs Anderson's former Castletown home.
The jury heard Mr Anderson talk about the night of the alleged murder when he spoke to his wife and Mr Roberts about an affair he thought they were having and he took off his wife's wedding rings.
Mr Anderson told the court Mr Roberts attacked him a number of times before he hit back in self defence, saying he kicked him away and had an ‘out of body experience’.
He recalled his wife shouting ‘you're dead’ after he'd hit Mr Roberts.
Mr Anderson told jurors he tried to give his wife a knife and said ‘go on then kill me’. When his wife refused, he put the knife back in the kitchen.
Mr Anderson then performed basic CPR on Mr Roberts before calling 999.
The trial continues this morning at Douglas Courthouse.
