Further arrests in Operation Bannock

by isleofman.com 31st March 2015

Two more men have been arrested as part of an investigation into a suspected multi-million pound fraud.
The pair were arrested in Guernsey on Monday (30 March) after arriving in the Channel Islands from the Isle of Man. They were interviewed and released on police bail.
Two men from the Island have already been arrested as part of Operation Bannock, a police probe into a suspected ?21 million VAT and money laundering operation.
They have been bailed pending further investigations.
The inquiry is a joint effort between officers from the Isle of Man Financial Crime Unit, HM Revenue and Customs, Cheshire Constabulary, the UK National Crime Agency and Guernsey's Border Agency.

Guernsey’s Financial Investigations Unit says it’s pleased with progress made in the investigation, and says the new arrests illustrate its determination to target those suspected of laundering the proceeds of crime.
