Deadline day for Ramsey group's post office plan

by isleofman.com 31st March 2015

Today is the deadline for the group which wants to run a sub post office in Ramsey courthouse, to put forward its business plan.
Ramsey Postal Cooperative was formed in the wake of strong local protest at plans to transfer postal services to a nearby Spar shop.
The Cooperative has held regular meetings to draw-up proposals to retain services in the town centre building, since early February.
A deadline for the costed business plan to be submitted to the Post Office board was extended from 2 March until today (31 March).
It's understood the Council of Ministers will consider the propsoal next month.
The cooperative group is made up of local volunteers with a range of business skills.
But it's unclear how much has been achieved.
One of the group's founders Ramsey commissioner Captain Nigel Malpass, says details of the bid are not available 'for public consumption' due to an agreement it has with the Post Office.
