Jury hears of murder acccused's infidelity

by isleofman.com 30th March 2015
A man accused of murder was unfaithful to his wife, a jury has heard.
Ian Anderson, 46, denies the murder of 60-year-old Ballabeg man Neil Roberts.
His body was found by police at Mr and Mrs Anderson's former Castletown home in Queen Street, in late 2013.
Mr Anderson has been questioned by defence advocate Dawn Jones.
She asked him about the night of the alleged incident.
He told the jury he had been drinking in Port Erin with Mr Roberts that evening and they both went back to his house in Castletown, where they were joined by Mrs Anderson.
Mr Anderson talked about his wife, Alison, and Mr Roberts having an affair and he took off his wife's wedding rings.
Mr Anderson told the court Mr Roberts attacked him a number of times first before he hit back in self defence, saying he kicked him away and had an "out of body experience."
The defence finished its questioning, asking Mr Anderson if he was ever unfaithful to his wife.
He admitted having what he called "sexual encounters" with three women during his marriage.
There is no sitting on Tuesday.
The trial will continue on Wednesday at Douglas Courthouse.
